Cuttack, Dec 9: Ahead of the high-voltage India–South Africa T20 match at Barabati Stadium on Tuesday, authorities have issued a strict list of items barred from entering the stadium, urging spectators to follow the guidelines for smooth security checks.

According to the advisory displayed at the entry gates, helmets, umbrellas, water bottles, tiffin boxes, purses, coins, cigarettes, lighters, power banks, outside food, camera stands, firecrackers, toy guns and sharp objects will not be allowed inside. Security personnel have been instructed to stop any such items at the gate and keep them outside the stadium premises. Organisers have appealed to all spectators to cooperate to avoid delays during entry.

Teams Complete Final Practice Under Tight Security
Both India and South Africa have completed extensive practice sessions at Barabati Stadium under multi-layer security deployment, Monday.

Team India, led by captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir, trained for nearly three hours on Monday afternoon. Batters and bowlers underwent intense net sessions. Yadav told reporters that the squad was fully fit and focused. “We have already won the daily series, and tomorrow will be another exciting contest,” he said.

South Africa practiced in the evening under floodlights. Captain Aiden Markram, who is visiting Barabati for the first time, said the team was well-prepared and ready for the challenge. South Africa is looking to maintain its unbeaten T20I record at this venue.

Packed Stadium Expected on Match Day
Thousands of fans gathered even during practice sessions, reflecting the excitement ahead of the big clash. Over 45,000 spectators are expected to fill the stands on Tuesday.

Barabati has hosted three T20 internationals so far. India has won only once (in 2017 against Sri Lanka), while South Africa defeated the hosts in 2015 and 2022. The fourth T20 clash will test whether India can overturn the venue’s history and level the record.
