Welfare Schemes / Subhadra Portal Reopens; Fresh Applications Invited, Know Who Can Register

Key Points
Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: The Odisha government has officially
reopened the Subhadra Portal from today, allowing eligible women to apply for
the Subhadra Scheme after a prolonged suspension.
The portal, which had been temporarily closed, is now
accessible to new applicants who were previously ineligible due to age
restrictions.
According to the revised guidelines, women who will attain
the age of 21 years by March 31, 2025, are now eligible to apply. Those who
meet the criteria and are approved will receive their Subhadra assistance
installment on March 8, 2025. However, due to the enforcement of the Model Code
of Conduct in Nuapada for the upcoming by-election, the portal will remain
inaccessible in that region.
For the 2025–26 financial year, applicants must be between
21 and 60 years of age as of April 1, 2025. This means eligible applicants
should have been born between April 2, 1965, and April 1, 2004.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida confirmed the
development, stating, “From November 1, the Subhadra Portal will be open to
all. Women who have turned 21 can now apply. Those who will be 21 by March 31,
2025, are also eligible to apply for the scheme.”
The government had previously disbursed the third
installment of the Subhadra Scheme on August 9, coinciding with the Raksha
Bandhan festival. The sixth phase of the scheme was released earlier on April
24. However, nearly 2.85 lakh beneficiaries missed out on the third installment
due to various discrepancies.
To address this, the government has initiated a door-to-door
survey to identify and include the left-out beneficiaries. Deputy CM Parida had
earlier announced that those mistakenly marked as deceased—based on
discrepancies in ration card data—would be verified using Health Department
records. If found alive, they would be reinstated into the scheme.

Field officers have been directed to complete verification
visits and submit investigation reports within 15 days to ensure eligible women
receive their rightful benefits.
The reopening of the Subhadra Portal marks a renewed push by
the state government to ensure inclusive welfare delivery and rectify past
oversights in the implementation of the scheme.
