Subhadra Yojana: Fifth Instalment on August 28; Left-Out Beneficiaries to Get Five Instalments Together

Bhubaneswar, Aug 17: More than one crore women enrolled under Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana are set to receive the next instalment of financial assistance on August 28, Raksha Bandhan, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said on Monday.

The state-level Subhadra Yojana programme to mark the disbursal is scheduled to be held in Nayagada, Parida informed.

Parida said women whose applications have been verified and recommended by district administrations by August 28 would be included in the upcoming disbursal, subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

She said eligible beneficiaries who had been left out of previous instalments would receive five instalments together, subject to verification and eligibility.

The government has received more than 3.17 lakh fresh applications during the current financial year. Many of these applications have undergone field verification and eligibility assessment.

Rs 5,000 Fifth Instalment
The fifth instalment under the scheme amounts to Rs 5,000 per eligible beneficiary and is to be transferred directly to bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

What Is Subhadra Yojana?
Subhadra Yojana was launched on September 17, 2024, as one of the Odisha government's flagship women-focused welfare programmes. Under the scheme, eligible women receive Rs 10,000 annually in two instalments of Rs 5,000 each, with the assistance scheduled around Raksha Bandhan and International Women's Day.

The scheme has a five-year period from 2024-25 to 2028-29, with eligible beneficiaries entitled to receive a total of Rs 50,000 over five years.

The Odisha government allocated Rs 10,000 crore for Subhadra in the 2024-25 Budget. The allocation was increased to Rs 10,145 crore in 2025-26, while Rs 10,145 crore was provided for the scheme in the 2026-27 Budget.

According to the state government, more than Rs 20,648 crore has already been transferred to over one crore women through the first four instalments.
