Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: The Special Crime Unit of Odisha Police has achieved another major success by arresting two notorious gun mafias before they could execute a large-scale crime.
The accused persons have been identified as Sumanta Nayak and Soubhagya Nayak, resident of Angul and Dhenkanal district.
Acting on intelligence inputs, the unit conducted a raid, and seized a significant cache of illegal arms.

✨During the operation, police recovered more than 10
semi-automatic pistols, one carbine, live ammunition, a car, and mobile phones.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sumanta Nayak and Saubhagya
Nayak, both allegedly involved in illegal arms trafficking.

Officials revealed that in the past two months alone, the Special Crime Unit has seized 33 illegal firearms, registered four cases, and arrested eight notorious arms dealers.
Authorities stated that the crackdown is part of a sustained effort to dismantle illegal gun-running networks in Odisha and prevent organized crime activities.
