SIR 2026 in Odisha / SIR 2026 Progress Reviewed in Odisha’s Kotia Region

Koraput, Jul 28: Deputy Secretary from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Odisha, Jitendra Kumar Patra on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 in Kotia area of Koraput district.

During his field visit, Patra inspected several polling stations and assessed the status of claims and objections being received under the revision exercise. He examined applications related to inclusion, deletion, and correction of names in the electoral rolls, and interacted with election officials, booth-level officers (BLOs), and field staff to understand the ground realities.

Emphasising transparency and accuracy, Patra directed officials to accord top priority to preparing a clean, error-free, and impartial voter list. He instructed that all claims and objections must be verified strictly in line with prescribed guidelines and disposed of within the stipulated timeframe. He also stressed that eligible voters should not face any inconvenience during the process.

District administration and election officials briefed Patra on the progress of the SIR-2026 programme, including the number of claims and objections received and the status of their disposal. The review highlighted the importance of meticulous scrutiny to ensure that the final electoral roll reflects the true demographic and electoral profile of the region.
