Bhubaneswar, Sept 3: A woman, resident of Ahalyanagar area near Patia in Bhubaneswar, got trapped after the car she was in got locked after the vehicle got stuck in the flood water due to incessant rain.

According to reports, flood water entered into the low lying Ahalyanagar area after heavy rain lashed the city on Tuesday afternoon. During this time, the victim, who was out for some work in her car, got trapped after the sensor of the vehicle got locked automatically.

Unable to make her way out, the woman remained in the vehicle for over an hour.

Upon receiving the alert, fire department officials arrived at the scene and rescued the woman by breaking open the vehicle door.

Soon after, BMC officials reached the site and pumped out the floodwater, restoring access to the area.
