Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: In a landmark move to make governance more accessible, Odisha’s Revenue Department will now provide services through WhatsApp.
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the department will operate a 24-hour service to handle complaints and applications related to land and property.
The initiative is expected to reduce corruption and eliminate the need for citizens to make repeated visits to Tehsil offices.
Minister Pujari emphasised that if grievances are not addressed within the stipulated time or corruption complaints are received, strict action will be taken against responsible officials.
Citizens will also be able to directly send complaints to the Revenue Minister via WhatsApp.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the WhatsApp service tomorrow at a special event. In addition, 55 Tehsil offices across the state will be converted into registry offices, further strengthening the delivery of revenue-related services.
Officials said the move reflects the government’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and citizen-friendly administration.
