Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: Odisha is set to take centre stage in the global energy dialogue as it hosts the prestigious Global Energy Leaders’ Summit (GELS) 2025 in Puri from December 5 to 7.

The summit was officially launched with a logo and website unveiling ceremony at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi. Interested participants can register at www.gelsodisha2025.com. Union Minister for Power and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik and Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo were among the key attendees, along with senior officials from the energy sector.

The event will bring together energy ministers from 28 Indian states and several international dignitaries from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, UAE, and Bhutan.

Principal Secretary Vishal Dev highlighted that the summit will feature multiple discussion sessions focusing on energy innovation, sustainability, and resilience. The timing of the summit coincides with the vibrant Konark Festival, offering delegates a taste of Odisha’s rich cultural heritage.

Deputy CM KV Singh Deo emphasized the importance of this summit, calling it a major opportunity for Odisha to showcase its leadership in energy transformation. He noted that despite facing frequent natural disasters like cyclones Montha and Dana, Odisha has demonstrated remarkable resilience and continues to progress rapidly.

The summit is expected to be a milestone in India’s journey toward a developed energy future, aligning with the national vision of a Viksit Bharat and a Viksit Odisha.
