Nuapada, Nov 13: The political heat in Nuapada is at its peak as the by-election results are set to be declared Friday, November 14.
With a record-breaking 83.45% voter turnout, the constituency has witnessed an unprecedented wave of democratic enthusiasm, especially from women voters who outnumbered men in participation.
The battle for the Nuapada Assembly seat, left vacant after the demise of four-time MLA Rajendra Dholakia, has drawn intense attention.
The key contenders include BJP’s Jay Dholakia, BJD’s
Snehangini Chhuria, and Congress’ Ghasiram Majhi. Voters now await the final
verdict to see who will wear the crown of victory.

Counting will commence at 8 am at Nuapada National College under a three-tier security arrangement. A total of 14 counting tables have been set up to process votes from 358 polling booths across 26 rounds. The process will begin with the counting of postal ballots, followed by EVMs after 30 minutes.
To ensure transparency and efficiency, 64 officials have been deployed for the counting process. Both BJP and BJD have expressed confidence in their victory, while Congress has raised concerns over alleged irregularities. However, the Election Commission has assured a smooth and fair counting procedure.
