Bhubaneswar, Oct 13: Renowned literary figure and President’s Award-winning educator Dwiti Chandra Sahu was brutally attacked outside Platform No. 6 of Bhubaneswar Railway Station on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred shortly after he arrived from Rayagada by train to attend an official meeting organized by SERT.

According to eyewitnesses, an unidentified assailant struck Sahu on the head with a wooden plank and snatched his mobile phone before fleeing the scene. The attack left Sahu critically injured, and he was immediately rushed to Capital Hospital by a PCR team for emergency treatment.

Sahu, a respected teacher and contributor to Odia literature, was in Bhubaneswar to participate in a government programme. The sudden assault has shocked the academic and literary communities across the state.
Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the station premises to identify the attacker. Preliminary reports suggest the motive may have been robbery, but officials are not ruling out other possibilities.
