Puri, Feb 4: President Droupadi Murmu today reached Puri and offered prayers at Lord Jagannath temple. Before entering the temple, she performed pind daan rituals at the holy Swetaganga pond, offering prayers for her ancestors.
According to reports, the President arrived at Swetaganga at around 7:00 AM and carried out the ritual. Soon after, she proceeded directly towards the Jagannath Temple. By 7:40 AM, she reached the Singhadwar (Lion Gate), where Gajapati Maharaja warmly welcomed her.
The Chief Administrator of the temple, along with the District Collector and Superintendent of Police, also greeted the President at the entrance. Her family priest accompanied her during the visit.
For security reasons, temple administration had suspended the public darshan for four hours-from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
The temple was thoroughly sanitized before 6:00 AM. Only authorized servitors with official passes connected to the temple rituals were allowed inside during the President’s visit.

As per the Blue Book security protocol, a massive security arrangement was in place, with 30 platoons of police deployed across Puri town.
At 8:10 AM, the President will leave the temple and proceed to Lok Bhavan, where she will spent some time before heading to the helipad at 9:35 AM. From there, she will board a special Indian Air Force helicopter to continue her tour to Mayurbhanj.
