Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday addressed the members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly in Bhubaneswar, delivering a heartfelt speech that blended nostalgia, cultural pride, and a call to action.
President Murmu praised the Odisha government’s initiatives
such as the Subhadra Yojana and subsidies for paddy farmers, while also
acknowledging the Centre’s contributions to infrastructure development in
railways, highways, and ports.
Reflecting on her journey, President Murmu said, “This
Odisha Assembly has taught me everything. Whatever I am today is because of
this Assembly, the blessings of the people of Odisha, and Lord Jagannath.” She also
hailed the rich cultural heritage of Odisha, recalling the transformation of
Chandashoka into Dharmashoka as a symbol of moral leadership.
