The team under the supervision of Betnoti SDPO Minati Biswal conducted a raid in a forest area close to Mahespur on the Kalama-Gobindraypur road under Baisinga police station in Mayurbhanj district.
During the raid, two accused persons, on spotting the police personnel, managed to escape.
Later, a thorough search of the area yielded significant evidence, including two country-made guns and two live bullets.
The seizure of the firearms and ammunition has prevented a potential major incident, said a senior police official.
