Begunia (Khordha), Sep 18: In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old man was electrocuted to death while plucking coconut on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Jagu Parida, a native from Khanguria village under Bolagarh Police limits.
The incident, reported from Bolagarh, came to light when passersby found Jagu hanging unconsciously on a coconut tree near Nelia pond in Bolagarh. Suspecting his death, they informed the fire station, who arrived at the scene and rescued Jagu’s body.
According to reports, Jagu was plucking the coconut on Thursday morning when tragedy struck. While plucking, a leaf fond came into contact with a 33kV transmission line (electrical wire). As a result, the whole tree was flooded with current, and Jagu, unaware of it, was caught with electric shock.

✨Reports suggest that he had climbed the tree with a towel tying around his feet. Thus, he failed to get down in time resulting in his death.
