Rayagada, Jan 10: A major mishap was averted at Ashok Talkies cinema hall in Rayagada town late last night. The incident occurred during the release of superstar Prabhas’s much‑anticipated film 'The Raja Saab', when a fire suddenly broke out inside the theatre.


According to reports, the blaze erupted at the very moment of Prabhas’s grand entry on screen. Excited fans, celebrating with traditional rituals and lighting lamps near the screen, inadvertently triggered the fire. Within minutes, smoke and flames spread across the hall, creating panic among the packed audience.


Cinema staff and local volunteers acted swiftly to evacuate moviegoers, preventing what could have been a major tragedy.


Fire services were alerted immediately and managed to bring the situation under control before the flames could cause extensive damage.


Authorities have confirmed that no casualties were reported, though minor property damage occurred inside the hall.
