Industry / OMC Shines at CCQC-2026, All 17 Teams Win Gold Awards

Bhubaneswar, Sep 29: The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has achieved a significant milestone in its pursuit of quality, productivity, safety and sustainable development, with all 17 participating teams securing Gold Awards at the 8th Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts (CCQC)-2026, officials said on Tuesday.

The convention was organised by the Bhubaneswar Chapter of the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) and brought together teams showcasing innovative projects aimed at improving workplace efficiency, operational performance and organisational excellence.

Focus on improvement

The 17 OMC teams represented various mines and operational units of the corporation and presented projects focused on quality enhancement, productivity improvement, safety management, operational efficiency and environmental sustainability in mining operations.

The award-winning teams came from facilities including the Ferro Chrome Plant (FCP), Khandabandha Iron Ore Mines, Kurmitar Iron Ore Mines, Banspani Iron Ore Mines, Daitari Iron Ore Mines, Jilling-Langalota Iron Ore Mines, COBP South Kaliapani, Tiringpahar Iron Ore Mines, Unchabali Iron Ore Mines and Guali Iron Ore Mines.

Teams such as Gati, FCP Tex, Horizon, Energia, Sankalp, Samarpan, Bahana, Exploder, Quarry Unlockers, C-2, COBP-1, Bio-Bloom, Unchabali Safety Warriors, TechFusion, Samadhan, Digital Mining and Safety Warrior were honoured with Gold Awards for their project presentations.

Operational excellence

The presentations highlighted a range of initiatives undertaken by OMC to strengthen mining operations through innovation, workplace safety measures, process improvements and environmentally responsible practices. The projects reflected the corporation's emphasis on adopting modern quality management concepts while ensuring sustainable growth.
