Baripada, Oct 5: The Odisha Vigilance on Monday launched simultaneous searches at 10 locations linked to Arabinda Mohanty, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Sub-Division at Betnoti in Mayurbhanj district, over an alleged possession of disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.

The searches are being conducted across Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar and Khordha districts on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada.

A team comprising five DSPs, eight inspectors and other supporting staff is conducting the searches.

According to Odisha Vigilance, searches are being conducted at the following locations:

A three-storey residential building at Angaragadia, Baleshwar.

Mohanty’s office at the R&B Sub-Division in Betnoti, Mayurbhanj.

His farmhouse at Basantapur, Baleshwar.

Another house belonging to him at Bampada, Baleshwar.

The house of a close associate at Angaragadia, Baleshwar.

The house of another close aide at Baisinga, Mayurbhanj.

The house of another associate at Bampada, Baleshwar.

The searches are currently underway. Odisha Vigilance said a further report would follow after the operation progresses.

The agency is examining the properties and other assets linked to Mohanty as part of the investigation into the alleged disproportionate assets.

A total of 240 government employees were caught in anti-corruption Vigilance cases between June 12, 2024, and September 20, 2026, according to the latest data submitted by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the Odisha Assembly on September 28.
