Odisha will host the Subhadra Shakti Samabesh campaign from June 21–30 across all gram panchayats. Deputy CM Pravati Parida reviewed preparations and interacted with Community Support Staff, stressing women’s empowerment, livelihood growth, and SHG strengthening under Mission Shakti’s statewide initiative.

Bhubaneswar, June 16: The Odisha government will roll out a statewide women’s empowerment campaign, Subhadra Shakti Samabesh, from June 21 to June 30 across all gram panchayats, officials said on Tuesday.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Mission Shakti, aims to strengthen awareness on livelihood opportunities, financial inclusion, skill development, and market linkages for women’s self-help groups (SHGs).
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida today chaired a virtual review meeting with district-level officials to assess preparations for the campaign. She directed authorities to ensure smooth and effective organisation of the programme in every district, emphasising its role in creating more Lakshpati Didis and Mahalakshpati Didis by enhancing women’s income and self-reliance.

The campaign will highlight government schemes and interventions designed to empower women, while encouraging SHG members to adopt sustainable livelihood practices. It will also serve as a platform to showcase success stories and build community-level awareness on women’s rights and opportunities.

She lauded their dedication and contribution, noting that their efforts have been instrumental in implementing government programmes at the grassroots. “Your commitment and collective efficiency have helped Odisha secure the top position in effective programme delivery nationwide,” she said, assuring that the government remains committed to addressing their challenges.
