Bhubaneswar, Nov 19: Odisha Police and district administrations have launched a massive crackdown on suspected Bangladeshi infiltrators in Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and other districts, following strict directives from the state government, officials said on Wednesday.
The coordinated raids aim to identify, detain, and verify
individuals suspected of illegal entry, with instructions to evict infiltrators
from the state.
Jagatsinghpur Raids
In Jagatsinghpur’s Beherampur area, police seized weapons from a suspected hideout, triggering intensified raids across Paradip, Erasama, Kujang, Biridi, and Balikuda. Around 25 suspected Bangladeshis have been identified and kept under tight security at Bagalpur shelter home, where their Aadhaar, voter IDs, and land documents are being verified. Local leaders, including MP Bibhuti Prasad Tarai and Minister Sampad Swain, have warned that infiltration will not be tolerated.
Kendrapara Operations
In Kendrapara, police detained at least 18 suspected infiltrators
from Chilkhana, six of whom lacked valid documents. Intensive checks are
underway in Duhuria, Rajnagar, Pattamundai, and Mahakalpara. SP Siddharth
Kataria said that blockades and document verification drives are being expanded
to prevent further infiltration.

✨Bhadrak Developments
Meanwhile, Bhadrak police have taken at least 17 suspicious youths into custody after prolonged surveillance. These individuals were allegedly operating in different parts of the district. Authorities are verifying their identities and monitoring settlements in Dilaarpur, Barahat, and Ranapada.
Wider State Action
According to officials, similar operations are ongoing in Keonjhar and Puri, where houses allegedly sheltering infiltrators have been demolished. Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan stated that the State government is committed to identifying and evicting illegal entrants, aligning with Union government directives.
With raids intensifying across multiple districts, Odisha Police have made clear that infiltration will be met with strict action. The coordinated crackdown underscores the state’s determination to safeguard security and maintain law and order.
