In a separate operation in Bhadrak district, police rescued two women and arrested four people during raids near Rajghat and Dhamra bridges, identified as hotspots of illegal activity.
Ganjam Raid And Arrests
Police busted the sex racket in Odisha’s Ganjam district and arrested six persons, including the alleged kingpin, during an early morning raid on Thursday, the source added.
The crackdown was carried out in Shankha Sahi area under Bhanjanagar police station limits following specific inputs about illegal activities continuing in the locality for the past few days.
Acting on a tip-off, Bhanjanagar police conducted a surprise raid at a house in Shankha Sahi area and apprehended one sex worker and five men from the spot.
During the investigation, police found that the racket was allegedly being operated by a transgender person, identified as the kingpin.
All the accused are from the Bhanjanagar police station area, while the sex worker is from Khordha district, our source from the ground informed.
The accused were produced before a court, and further investigation is underway.

In a similar operation, Bhadrak police rescued two women and arrested four persons involved in an alleged sex racket during raids conducted near Rajghat and Dhamra bridges.
The locations were identified as hotspots of illegal activities during an ongoing probe into human trafficking and sexual exploitation in the region.
Rescue And Legal Action
The rescued women were taken for medical examination and later reunited with their families after due procedures.
The arrested individuals were taken into custody and are facing charges related to trafficking, exploitation and running an illegal business.
Police said further investigation is in progress to identify additional links and networks.
