Bhubaneswar, Aug 25: The Department of Higher Education, Odisha, has officially launched the second phase of admissions for Plus Two (Class 11) streams and undergraduate (UG) programmes across the state, Officials said on Monday.

The initiative aims to accommodate students who missed the initial round or are seeking better options through revised merit lists and spot admissions.

According to the official sources, the +2 admission process will run from August 25 to August 31, during which students can apply to various higher secondary schools and junior colleges. The merit list will be released on September 4, followed by the enrollment window from September 6 to 10. Students will then participate in choice locking on September 12 and 13, allowing them to finalize their preferred institutions. A spot admission round is scheduled for September 17, offering one last opportunity for eligible candidates to secure seats.

Simultaneously, the second phase of UG admissions began on August 23, targeting students seeking entry into undergraduate programs in arts, science, and commerce streams.

This extended admission cycle reflects the state’s commitment to inclusive education, ensuring that no eligible student is left behind due to timing or logistical challenges. The digital application system continues to streamline the process, making it more accessible for students across urban and rural areas.

Education officials have urged students to stay updated via the official SAMS Odisha portal and complete their applications within the stipulated deadlines to avoid missing out.
