Digital Success: Odisha’s SAMS e-Admission of +2 Courses Hits 65% Enrollment in Phase-I

Bhubaneswar, Aug 7: The Student Academic Management System (SAMS) e-Admission process for +2 courses in Odisha for the academic year 2025–26 has successfully concluded its Phase-I cycle, marking a significant milestone in digital education governance.
Out of 4,46,205 applicants, 4,13,804 students were selected in the first round of Phase-I. An additional 52,955 candidates were chosen in the second selection based on merit and seat availability.
As of now, 3,71,207 students have secured admission out of the total 5,72,715 seats available across higher secondary institutions, reflecting a robust 65% admission rate.
The merit list for Phase-I Online SPOT selection has also been published, with 25,434 applicants selected. These students will complete their admission formalities at respective Higher Secondary Schools between August 8 and August 16.

The academic session for Class XI officially commenced on July 24, ensuring timely initiation of the teaching-learning process. The SAMS portal continues to streamline admissions with transparency, efficiency, and real-time updates, reinforcing Odisha’s commitment to digital transformation in education.
Officials from the School & Mass Education Department have praised the system’s reach and effectiveness, noting that the phased approach has helped manage large volumes of applications while maintaining merit-based selection.
With the successful completion of Phase-I, the focus now shifts to ensuring smooth onboarding of SPOT-selected students and preparing for subsequent admission phases if required.
