Viksit Odisha / Odisha, MP Ink Landmark Clean Energy Pact at CII Conference

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Aug 7: Odisha and Madhya Pradesh joined hands in a landmark clean energy partnership, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 7th CII International Energy Conference & Exhibition in New Delhi on Friday, officials said.

The agreement marks a significant step in India’s green growth journey, fostering cooperation in renewable energy, technology transfer, and knowledge sharing.

A Strategic Alliance

The MoU between Odisha’s Energy Department and Madhya Pradesh’s New and Renewable Energy Department (MPNRED) sets a framework for collaboration in solar, wind, hybrid technologies, energy efficiency, and conservation. Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo described the pact as a “monumental milestone” in regional cooperation for clean energy transition.

Key Focus Areas

• Joint promotion of solar, wind, and hybrid clean power projects.
• Technical exchange on policy design, regulatory practices, and grid integration.
• Collaborative R&D in energy storage and green hydrogen.
• Knowledge sharing to reduce deployment costs and enhance grid reliability.

Synergy of Strengths

Odisha’s expanding industrial base and Madhya Pradesh’s large-scale renewable infrastructure will complement each other, driving sustainable economic growth. The partnership aims to accelerate clean technology deployment, strengthen grid resilience, and create new opportunities for innovation and employment.
