Bhubaneswar, Nov 15: In a major step toward improving healthcare delivery, the Odisha government created as many as 4,433 new posts of Nursing Officers under the Odisha Nursing Service cadre, officials said on Saturday.
The move, approved by Health and Family Welfare Minister
Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, is aimed at making healthcare services more streamlined,
accessible, and patient-friendly across the state.
Strengthening Health Infrastructure
The newly created posts will be deployed in Ayushman Aarogya Mandir sub-health centers, where they will serve as Community Health Officers. This initiative is expected to enhance patient care and bring greater discipline and efficiency in nursing management.

✨Announcing the decision, Dr. Mahaling said the step will
lead to significant improvement in the quality of nursing services in hospitals
and healthcare institutions. He emphasized that the measure will make Odisha’s

Finance Dept Approval
According to official sources, the Finance Department has already given its consent for the creation of these posts. The Health Department will soon release detailed guidelines regarding recruitment examinations, training schedules, and postings.
