Puri, Oct 21: A long‑awaited dream of Mayurbhanj residents is finally coming true. The Ministry of Railways has approved the Puri–Badampahar Express (Train No. 18411/18412) following efforts led by President Droupadi Murmu, paving the way for a direct rail link between Puri and Badampahar.
According to official information, the train will depart Puri at 11:45 PM and reach Badampahar at 1:45 PM the next day. In the return direction, it will leave Badampahar at 4:00 PM and arrive in Puri at 6:00 AM.

The service will operate daily with nine LHB coaches, ensuring comfortable travel for passengers.

✨The train will halt at 19 stations, including Rairangpur and Badampahar, connecting key towns across Odisha. The new route is expected to boost tourism, trade, and connectivity between coastal and northern Odisha.
Residents of Mayurbhanj and nearby regions have expressed joy over the announcement, calling it a historic milestone for the district. The Rail Board’s approval marks a significant step toward improving regional accessibility and fulfilling a long‑standing public demand.

bringing festive cheer and renewed hope to thousands of commuters across the
