Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has issued nine strong directives to district collectors on Tuesday, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and proactive governance.

 

Addressing the collectors’ conference, the Chief Minister made it clear that corruption will not be tolerated and warned that any malpractice bringing disrepute to the government would invite strict action.

 

The CM’s nine-point advisory included instructions to eliminate corruption, increase field visits, adopt technology-driven governance with real-time data, prioritize grievance redressal at the district level, and promote Odia language in administration.

 

CM Majhi directed that government notices and advertisements must be published in Odia to safeguard cultural identity. Collectors were also asked to use social media to widely disseminate government information, reduce outsourcing practices, respect elected representatives visiting offices, and identify and transfer non-performing officials.

In addition to administrative reforms, the CM issued stern orders to crack down on illegal activities. He directed collectors to take decisive action against sand mafias and illicit liquor trade, warning that such operations were damaging the state’s social fabric. He suggested the use of drone technology to monitor sand theft and illegal mining activities.

Highlighting the rampant smuggling of minor minerals, CM Majhi instructed officials to exercise their full authority and act firmly against offenders without succumbing to political pressure.

 

The Odisha Chief Minister also ordered regular raids to eradicate illicit liquor networks, describing them as a “virus” that must be uprooted.

 

He warned that if any incident occurs due to illegal liquor trade, the concerned officials will be held accountable and face strict government action.

 

CM Majhi’s directives underline a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and criminal networks, while reinforcing the importance of Odia identity and citizen-centric governance.
