Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: Humane Sagar, renowned playback singer of the state and often hailed as the “Arijit Singh of Odisha,” has passed away on Monday, leaving behind a legacy of music that spanned nearly 17 years.

Early Life

Born on November 25, 1990, in Titilagarh, Balangir district, Humane Sagar came from a family deeply rooted in music. His grandfather was a folk music director, his father sang for All India Radio, and Humane carried forward the tradition with his magical voice that captivated millions. From childhood, he showed a natural inclination towards singing, winning prizes at school, college, and state-level competitions.

Making a Name

His rise to fame began in 2012 when he won the reality show Voice of Odisha. This victory marked the beginning of his professional journey, and soon he became a household name.

Music over Medicine

Interestingly, Humane Sagar was also academically gifted. After completing his schooling, he cleared medical entrance exams and enrolled in MBBS. However, during his first year, he realized medicine was not his true calling.

Much to his family’s concern, he left medical studies to pursue music full-time. Despite initial struggles, his passion and determination helped him carve a successful career.

Over the years, Humane Sagar lent his voice to numerous Odia films and albums, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. His songs became anthems for love, heartbreak, and devotion, ensuring his place in the hearts of fans across generations.
