According to weather expert Surendranath Pasupalak, the systems are expected to become more defined around September 25 and 26, forming over the east-central and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for all districts, anticipating heavy rainfall within the next 24 hours.

A distinct low-pressure area may also develop near the Myanmar-Bangladesh coast, further intensifying the weather conditions. On Saturday, alerts were issued for 14 districts in coastal and northern Odisha, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning.

✨Districts such as Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar have been placed under yellow warning due to the likelihood of heavy downpours. Northern and southern Odisha are expected to bear the brunt of the rainfall, which may persist until September 26, according to IMD forecasts.
Adding to the concern, meteorologists predict another low-pressure system forming around October 1 or 2, with a major cyclonic circulation likely to develop by September 30.
While Durga Puja celebrations are underway, the back-to-back weather systems may dampen festive spirits.
