Bhubaneswar, Aug 26: The Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17. The campaign, which will continue till October 17, was finalized at a state-level meeting chaired by party president and attended by Chief Minister, district presidents, and organizational in-charges.
The initiative will unfold across every mandal, booth, and district, with 13 major programmes designed to take the party’s outreach directly to the people. On the evening of September 17, beneficiaries across the state will light lamps in their homes, symbolizing their pledge towards a “Viksit Bharat.” Schools and colleges will host drawing and debate competitions, while Anganwadi centres will organize community contests. A photo exhibition titled Stories of Transformation will showcase developmental narratives, and street-corner plays under the banner Namo Seva Gatha will highlight welfare schemes.
The campaign also includes the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, aimed at engaging youth across districts and constituencies. Leaders and workers will participate in ‘Seva Mor Yogdan’ programmes, reaching doorsteps to explain the government’s welfare initiatives. The BJP has emphasized that the “double-engine government” will be projected as a driver of grassroots development, with leaders highlighting 25 key service initiatives achieved during Modi’s 25 years in governance.

✨Cultural activities will also form part of the outreach. The
Seva Setu Abhiyan will feature rangoli exhibitions, while the Jan
Sevak Mahakumbh will witness nearly 25,000 public representatives singing
the national anthem together — a symbolic show of unity and patriotism.

Speaking on the occasion, Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra said the campaign reflects the party’s commitment to service and its resolve to connect with every section of society. “This is not just a celebration but a pledge to strengthen the vision of a developed India,” he noted.
With its blend of cultural symbolism, grassroots mobilization, and welfare messaging, the BJP’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan seeks to consolidate its presence in Odisha while reinforcing its national narrative of service and development.
