Bhubaneswar, Feb 16: The Odisha Assembly will commence its budget session Tuesday amid tight security. To ensure smooth proceedings, Commissionerate Police has tightened arrangements, deploying a three-tier security system both inside and outside the Assembly premises.
Specialized security units including the dog squad, bomb squad, snake helpline, and fire services will remain stationed around the Assembly to respond in case of any emergency. More than 20 platoons of police forces have been deployed to guard the perimeter and maintain law and order during the session.
Our source has informed that the entire Assembly complex has
been brought under CCTV coverage to strengthen surveillance. “In addition,
Gandhi Marg has been placed under AI-powered camera monitoring to track
movements and prevent untoward incidents,” added the source.

“A temporary police camp and control room have been set up in front of the Assembly to coordinate operations and provide real-time updates,” our source added further.

Security has also been heightened for organizations and groups expected to stage demonstrations during the session. Our source revealed that intelligence personnel in plain clothes have been deployed across key locations in Bhubaneswar to monitor activities and gather inputs.
The Commissionerate Police has stated that these measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of legislators, staff, and the public while maintaining the sanctity of the Assembly proceedings. With the budget session being a crucial event for the state, authorities are leaving no stone unturned to prevent disruptions and safeguard the democratic process.
Earlier, the Odisha Cabinet, in its 36th meeting chaired by
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, approved four key proposals.
