Bhubaneswar, Jul 21: The Odisha government on Tuesday approved 23 major industrial projects worth Rs4,573.87 crore, with the potential to generate 22,873 employment opportunities across 11 districts. The decision was taken at the 148th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, officialsa said.

The projects span diverse sectors including IT & ITES, green energy equipment, battery and energy storage, chemicals, textiles, food processing, steel downstream, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, healthcare, and tourism. Officials said the approvals reflect Odisha’s balanced approach to industrial development under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s leadership, aligned with the vision of Samruddha Odisha 2036.

Among the key projects, HCL Technologies will establish a Global Development Centre in Khordha with an investment of Rs730 crore, creating 6,000 jobs. In the green energy sector, ACME Cleantech Solutions will set up an alkaline electrolyzer manufacturing unit in Ganjam with an investment of Rs778 crore, generating 480 jobs. GGB Battery India will invest Rs202.50 crore in a zinc anode battery unit in Cuttack, while Envirocare Infrasolution will establish a 100 MW solar power plant in Angul.

The textile and apparel sector received significant commitments, with four projects in Puri and Balangir expected to generate over 10,000 jobs. SAPL Industries, SPL Industries, and Richa Global Exports will set up garment manufacturing units in Puri, while Astha Cotspin will establish a textile unit in Balangir.

Chemical sector investments include facilities in Nuapada, Ganjam, Jajpur, and Mayurbhanj, while food processing, steel downstream, pharmaceuticals, and logistics projects will further diversify the industrial base. Healthcare and tourism also received a boost, with approvals for multi-speciality hospitals and luxury hotels in Cuttack, Sambalpur, and Khordha.

Officials said the Single Window Clearance System continues to facilitate time-bound approvals and coordinated clearances, enabling industries to implement projects efficiently. The latest approvals reaffirm Odisha’s attractiveness as an investment destination and its commitment to inclusive growth.
