NRDC reaffirms its commitment to "Viksit Odisha" vision
NRDC continues to foster technological sovereignty and a self-reliant Odisha.

Key Points

An Exchange of Technology Licensing Agreements for three Moringa-based technologies developed by CSIR-CFTRI was held on 18th March 2026.
Bhubaneswar, Mar 19: The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), dedicated to commercializing technologies from public-funded research institutions, reaffirmed its commitment to the "Viksit Odisha" vision.

Under the leadership of Dr. Bijay Kumar Sahu, Sr. Regional Head, NRDC and Team, the corporation is bridging the gap between research excellence and regional economic growth to empower local entrepreneurs.

In a landmark step, an Exchange of Technology Licensing Agreements for three Moringa-based technologies developed by CSIR-CFTRI was held on 18th March 2026. The event featured Smt. Rasmita Panda (Commissioner-cum-Secretary, MSME Dept., Odisha), Commodore Amit Rastogi (Retd) (CMD, NRDC), and Ms. Surekha Routray (MD, M/s Aashdit Nutritech Pvt. Ltd.).

As a premier Government of India enterprise, NRDC continues to foster technological sovereignty and a self-reliant Odisha.

The details about the technologies are provided below:
1) Low Fat Expanded Green Snack using Moringa The products are suitable as a low-fat snack because the step of frying in oil/fat has been eliminated to provide a good shelf-life without sacrificing the attractive texture and taste of a crispy snack. The product can be consumed as any time snack. In addition, the products are cost-effective and can also be considered as a health food (low-fat, high-fibre and high-protein). The product can be shelf stored for more than 3 months at ambient conditions.

2) Chikki With Moringa Moringa chikki is made from natural sources without any preservatives. The product is a greenish Bar due to addition debittered Moringa leaf powder, wheat germ, black sesame and dehulled sunflower seeds with jaggery. This Ready to eat Chikki helps protect against oxidants. Moringa chikki with natural phyto-nutrients, vitamins, minerals, contribute to antioxidant activity and with other nutrients, amino acids and fatty acids in this product, help maintain good immune function year round.

3)Instant products from Moringa leaves Moringa dip: The dip can be used as an adjunct with various snack foods. It is also a good source of protein and other nutrients.
Moringa debittered leaf powder: The product can be used for the preparation of instant products with Moringa leaf protein and other ingredients. The product can be used as a good source of protein at economic price.
Moringa chutney powder: It can be used as an adjunct for snacks and breakfast foods.
Moringa Instant beverage mix: It is used as a protein beverage formulations and can be consumed with milk or hot water by children, adults, teenagers and aged people.
