Puri, Sept 3: The newly reconstituted Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee is set to hold its first official meeting today in Puri.
The meeting will be chaired by Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb, the hereditary chief of the temple and permanent chairman of the committee.
Key issues to be discussed include:
- Streamlining of Devotee Queue System (Dhadi Darshan): Plans to implement a structured queue system to ensure smooth and disciplined darshan for pilgrims.
- Temple Security Enhancements: Measures to strengthen security within and around the temple premises.
- Legal Amendments: Proposed changes to existing laws governing temple administration under the Shree Jagannath Temple Act.
- Ratna Bhandar Inventory: A long-awaited discussion on the counting and verification of the temple’s sacred treasury of ornaments and jewels.
