Balasore/Nilagiri, May 8: A mysterious aerial phenomenon startled residents across Balasore and Nilgiri on Friday evening, as an unidentified object appeared in the sky before vanishing abruptly. Eyewitnesses described the spectacle as a large glowing formation, followed by a torch-like light that flickered briefly before disappearing.

The unusual sight was reported simultaneously from several areas, including Nilgiri, leaving locals puzzled and sparking widespread speculation. Many residents gathered outdoors to witness the event, with some recording videos and sharing them on social media.

While the object’s origin remains unclear, speculation quickly turned to the nearby Chandipur missile testing range, which has often been the site of defence trials. Locals suspect that the phenomenon may have been linked to a missile test or other defence-related activity. However, no official confirmation has been issued by authorities regarding any scheduled trial.
