Puri, Jan 27: A motorcyclist was killed after a speeding car ran over him near Mangarajpur bypass in Puri.
The deceased has been identified as Purnachandra Behera, a resident of Bir Harekrushnapur village in Puri district.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred when the victim, Purnachandra, was traveling on his motorcycle for some personal work when a Mercedes car struck him from the rear. As a result, Purnachandra died on the spot.
On being informed, police reached the accident site promptly and launched an investigation into the incident.
Authorities are examining the circumstances of the crash and the role of the car driver.
