Bhubaneswar, Sep 17: Police on Wednesday arrested boyfriend of the woman constable, Shubhamitra Sahoo, whose body was recovered from a forest near Ghatagaon in Keonjhar district.
The breakthrough came after her boyfriend, also a constable, confessed to the crime during police interrogation.
According to reports, Shubhamitra, originally from Paradip was posted in Bhubaneswar. On September 6, a missing complaint was lodged at the Capital Police Station. However, her body was recovered from a forest in Keonjhar.
Following a detailed investigation and interrogation, the victim's boyfriend Deepak Raut was arrested and later confessed to the crime and disposing the body in the forest.

✨Acting on his confession, the special squad, along with Keonjhar police, recovered the remains and initiated forensic procedures.
Shubhamitra’s father and brother have reached the police station, seeking justice.
The Commissionerate Police have assured a thorough investigation and are coordinating with local authorities in Keonjhar to gather further evidence.
