Puri, Jan 2: A minor boy was killed while two others sustained critical injuries in an accident near Puri’s Badadanda on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Shreyansh De of Town Police Station area.

According to reports, the incident occurred near the Bhakta Salabega temple when a man from Kumutisahi area was riding a scooter with his grandson and another child. Meanwhile, the Bolero, approaching from behind, struck the scooter and dragged it up to Balagandi Square.

The collision resulted in the death of minor boy on the spot while other two victims sustained serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to Puri Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Following the accident, tension gripped the area as locals gathered at the site.

Police soon reached the spot to control the situation, seized the Bolero vehicle, and detained the driver for further investigation.

Authorities have assured strict action and urged commuters to exercise caution on the busy Badadanda stretch, which has witnessed multiple accidents in recent times.
