Belghar, Feb 3: In a shocking incident from Kandhamal district, a minor girl was found with her hands and legs tied in a forest.


According to police sources, a 14‑year‑old school girl from Belaghar area was abducted by two youths while she had gone to relieve herself near a stream in the evening. The miscreants allegedly tied her hands and legs, dragged her into a nearby forest, and attempted to force physical contact. When the girl resisted, they tore her clothes and threatened to record and circulate a video on social media.


The victim’s family lodged a complaint at Belghar police station. While one accused is absconding, police have detained another youth for interrogation.


The incident has sparked widespread concern among locals, who condemned the brutality and demanded strict action against the perpetrators.
