Berhampur, Feb 4: Infatuation, attraction, sex and then the betrayal. Such was the sequence of events in the life of Sunita Behera from Sunapalli village in Odisha's Ganjam district.

After repeated appeals to the police, Sunita has staged a sit-in protest demanding justice outside her alleged lover's house since last night, a source said Wednesday.

According to the source, married Sunita -- a mother of two -- used to go to Tulu Maharana's house at Gunthapada village under Kabisuryanagar block in Odisha's Ganjam district for work. The two met and developed a romantic relationship, the source added.

As per Sunita, Tulu coerced her to get into a physical relationship with her after giving assurance of marriage.

"He blackmailed me by secretly capturing some private pictures of our intimate moments. I raised the issue with Tulu's family. They advised me to compromise and told me to elope with him to Surat," the woman said.

Later, the couple moved to Surat for a short period of time and secretly married at Ambaji temple in the presence of a few friends, the source informed.

Subsequently, Sunita became a mother of a baby boy, who died after a short while after birth.

"I saw my child alive after delivery. However, after some time, Tulu tells me that the baby was stillborn," Sunita said.

Things went south when Tulu accused Sunita of killing the infant.

Afterwards, Tulu took Sunita back to Kabisuryanagar for a court marriage. However, Sunita's world turned upside down when Tulu told her to wait for him at Budhamba area with an excuse of some work and never returned.

Subsequently, Sunita approached the police and filed an FIR at Kabisuryanagar Police Station. However, nothing substantial happened and Tulu remained at large.
