Bhubaneswar, Feb 5: The Odisha government on Thursday effected a reshuffle at the IAS level, assigning additional responsibilities to several senior officers, an official notification read.

Development Commissioner Deoranjan Kumar Singh has been given additional charge of the Steel and Mines Department. Singh will continue to serve as Development Commissioner while holding the additional responsibility.

Surendra Kumar has been assigned the additional charge of the Parliamentary Affairs Department. He will continue to hold charge of the General Administration Department alongside his new responsibility.

Senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi has been appointed Chairman of the Odisha Forest Development Corporation. He has also been entrusted with an additional charge as Chief Administrator of the KBK (Kalahandi-Balangir-Koraput) region.

IAS Arabinda Kumar Padhee has been transferred to the Revenue and Disaster Management Department from the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment. He will continue to hold an additional charge as Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration.

Chithra Arumugam has been appointed Director General of the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration. She will also continue to hold charge of the Labour and State Employees Insurance and Technical Education and Training departments.

The government notification outlined the changes as part of administrative reorganisation. Officials said the officers would continue to discharge their existing responsibilities in addition to the newly assigned roles.

The reshuffle involves key departments, including Steel and Mines, Parliamentary Affairs, General Administration, Revenue, Forest Development, Labour and Administrative Training, reflecting the government’s effort to realign senior administrative responsibilities.
