Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: Rituals at the historic Lingaraj Temple resumed on Thursday morning after a day-long disruption.

The temple, a revered spiritual landmark in Bhubaneswar, resumed its daily religious schedule on Thursday morning.

The interruption in rituals was reportedly caused by a dispute involving the Samartha Nijog servitor group, which led to the suspension of several key ceremonies on Wednesday.

Devotees, including many observing the sacred Kartika month, were left disappointed as prasad distribution and other rituals were halted.

According to Brahmin Niyoga Secretary, the temple’s daily schedule is now back on track. With the completion of the morning Mangala Arati, preparations for the Koṭha Bhoga ritual are underway, and all customary practices are being observed with devotion and discipline.

On Wednesday, rituals were halted following the Mangala Arati, leading to widespread concern among pilgrims and Habishyalis who had gathered in large numbers. Despite several rounds of meetings between temple authorities and administrative officials, a concrete resolution to the servitor dispute remains elusive.

However, the resumption of rituals has brought relief to devotees, many of whom had been deprived of prasad for two consecutive days. Temple officials have assured that efforts are ongoing to maintain harmony and ensure uninterrupted religious proceedings.
