Kantabanji, Sept 3: A dramatic late-night episode unfolded at the Kantabanji Police Station after the husband of the station’s officer-in-charge, Rashmita Behera, was accused of misbehaving with several local youths.

The incident sparked unrest among residents and led to a tense standoff with police

According to reports, the officer’s husband allegedly misbehaved with a group of local youths in the city. When police attempted to bring the victims to the station for questioning, they met with resistance from the public.

The situation escalated quickly, drawing a crowd of over a hundred people to the station premises.

Protesters demanded strict action against the officer’s husband and later submitted a written complaint to the authorities.

The atmosphere remained tense for nearly four hours, with high drama unfolding inside and outside the station.

The standoff was eventually resolved after the accused publicly apologised, calming the agitated crowd.
