Koraput, Oct 23: A sudden landslide near Maliguda railway station in Odisha’s Koraput district has brought train services to a halt on the Koraput–Jeypore railway line, officials said on Thursday.
According to sources, large boulders and debris from a nearby hill collapsed onto the railway tracks between Maliguda and Jarti stations, severely affecting train movement.
Railway officials said that the incident has disrupted
services on the Koraput–Kirandul route. A rescue team from Koraput station has
been dispatched to the site to clear the rocks and soil from the tracks. The train

To prevent further incidents, a protective net has been installed on the hillside. However, recurring landslides in the area continue to pose a challenge, raising concerns for both railway authorities and passengers.
The incident has once again highlighted the vulnerability of
the Koraput–Kirandul rail corridor, making it a growing concern for safe and
