Bhubaneswar, Dec 17: A major development has emerged in the death of a KISS student, with police confirming that the boy was not injured by slipping in the bathroom, as initially claimed, but was allegedly strangled to death by three fellow students.

The revelation came after Infocity Police continued their investigation based on a zero FIR filed earlier.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on December 12. A dispute broke out among students in the hostel after some lentils were spilled. The argument escalated, and the victim was reportedly taken to the bathroom, where he was beaten and strangled by three classmates.

Police have detained the three students and are continuing their inquiry. Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Child Protection Commission has reached KISS to review the situation.

Police further stated that the institution attempted to suppress the incident. The family was initially informed that the boy had slipped in the bathroom and died.

However, during the investigation, evidence surfaced suggesting that the authorities tried to destroy proof and conceal the true nature of the incident. Infocity Police claim to have obtained crucial evidence supporting these allegations.

The Commissionerate Police is now considering strong action against KISS authorities. Hostel wardens, teachers, and administrative officials are expected to be questioned in the coming days.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many questioning how such a crime could occur inside an educational institution.
