Argus News - Kalahandi Man Dumps Wife's Body In Canal, Later Attempts Su*cide

Bhawanipatna/Bolangir, Mar 31: In a shocking incident reported from Sanyasikundamal village under Junagarh police station limits in Kalahandi district, a man allegedly killed his wife, dumped her body in a canal, and later attempted suicide by consuming poison, our source from the ground informed.

According to the source, the accused, identified as Pramod Chandan, took the extreme step after committing the crime. He was rushed for medical treatment, and his condition has now stabilised. During questioning, he is said to have confessed to disposing of his wife’s body in a canal, following which search operations were launched. However, the body was not recovered at the time of filing this report.
The motive behind the crime remains unclear.

Human Skeleton Recovered In Bolangir
In a separate incident, a human skeleton was recovered from the Gulmi forest under Muribahal police station limits in Bolangir district. The remains were identified by family members as those of an elderly woman, Dulari Putel, a resident of Dadhiapadar village, who was missing for several days.

According to our source from the ground, the woman had gone to the forest on March 10 to collect 'Mahua' but did not return home. Her family had subsequently lodged a missing persons complaint at Muribahal police station, following which an investigation was initiated. The skeleton was discovered by locals who had gone into the forest to collect leaves and later informed the police.

The exact cause of death remains unclear. Police seized the skeletal remains and launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
