Bhubaneswar, Jul 6: Train services under the Khurda Road Division will face temporary disruptions on July 7 due to ongoing safety-related modernisation works between Malatipatpur and Puri stations in Odisha, officials said on Monday.
The East Coast Railway has announced cancellations of several MEMU services to facilitate infrastructure upgrades aimed at ensuring safer and more efficient operations in the future.
The modernisation drive, described as crucial for strengthening the railway’s safety framework, is expected to enhance passenger convenience and operational reliability. Authorities have emphasised that the short-term inconvenience will pave the way for long-term improvements in rail services across Odisha.

✨According to the notification, the following trains will remain cancelled on July 7:
- 68403 Khurda Road–Puri MEMU
- 68404 Puri–Khurda Road MEMU
- 68415 Cuttack–Puri MEMU
- 68416 Puri–Cuttack MEMU
- 68437 Bhadrak–Cuttack MEMU
- 68438 Cuttack–Bhadrak MEMU
- 58405 Cuttack–Paradip MEMU
- 58406 Paradip–Cuttack MEMU
Passengers have been advised to plan their journeys
accordingly and check updates before travel. The Railways has urged commuters
to use the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or the official website for
real-time information on train operations.

Officials reiterated that the modernisation works are part
of a broader initiative to strengthen safety measures, improve infrastructure,
