Doctors revealed that the singer was suffering from liver cirrhosis, a chronic condition where healthy liver cells are gradually replaced by scar tissue, impairing the organ’s ability to function. The liver plays a vital role in detoxifying the body, processing nutrients, and producing proteins essential for blood clotting. Cirrhosis disrupts these functions, and symptoms often appear only after 90 per cent of the liver is damaged. Excessive alcohol consumption over many years is one of the leading causes of cirrhosis.

Though doctors had noted slight improvement in his consciousness earlier, they had warned that the next 48 hours were critical. Unfortunately, his health declined further, leading to multi-organ complications.

Humane Sagar’s passing has left fans and fellow musicians in shock. Tributes continue to pour in, with many describing his death as a void that can never be filled in Odisha’s cultural landscape.
