Argus News - Humane Sagar on Ventilatory Support Amid Health Crisis

Bhubaneswar, Nov 16: Renowned Odia playback singer Humane Sagar is still in extremely critical condition as he is battling severe respiratory failure. He is on high ventilatory support.

Humane Sagar was rushed to the Emergency Department of AIIMS Bhubaneswar on November 14, 2025, at 1:10 pm in a highly critical state. Following initial stabilization, he was admitted to the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) under the supervision of Dr. Srikant Behera, Intensivist and ECMO Specialist, for advanced evaluation and management.

Doctors revealed that the playback singer is suffering from multi-organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), which includes encephalopathy, shock, respiratory failure, acute kidney injury, hepatopathy, thrombocytopenia, and coagulopathy. He has also been diagnosed with acute on chronic liver failure (ACLF), bilateral pneumonia, and dilated cardiomyopathy with severe left ventricular systolic dysfunction.

His hemodynamic instability is being managed with multiple vasopressors and inotropic support. Additionally, he is undergoing continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT dialysis) due to anuric renal failure.

Despite the grave situation, doctors noted a slight improvement in his sensorium, as he has begun responding to simple commands.

Humane Sagar is being treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics, antifungal medications, and other life-supportive measures in line with standard medical protocols.

The MICU team at AIIMS Bhubaneswar is closely monitoring his progress, with multiple specialists involved in his care. The hospital has assured that all possible interventions are being undertaken to stabilize his condition.
