Koraput, Oct 2: Following continuous rainfall triggered by a low-pressure system in Koraput district, a temporary bridge over the Chaberi River near Bangalaguda on National Highway 326 was submerged under nearly five feet of water on Thursday.
The highway, a vital lifeline connecting Koraput and Rayagada, has been completely shut down, leaving vehicles stranded on both sides.

✨Currently, water is flowing over the bridge with strong currents, making it unsafe for vehicular movement.
Travellers are now compelled to take a detour of over 25 kilometers, leading to frustration and confusion, especially among new commuters unfamiliar with the alternate route.
The disruption affects not only Koraput and Rayagada districts but also neighboring regions including Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, and Kalahandi.
