Bhubaneswar, Dec 9: An amended bill concerning the salary, allowances and pension of sitting and former legislators was tabled in the Odisha Assembly on Tuesday.

- In the event of the death of a legislator, their family will be provided a financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh.

- Salaries, allowances and pensions of legislators and former legislators will be revised every five years.

- The bill also provides that such revisions can be carried out directly through ordinance, without necessarily bringing a fresh bill before the Assembly.
